Of his performances conducting Madama Butterfly The New Zealand Herald wrote: “Much of the success of this production lies at the hands of Joel Rosenberg, who as musical director had the Auckland Philharmonia in the right form to carry the whole along at the right pace and sensitivity.”

The Portland Oregonian reviewing a recent performance of the Nutcracker wrote, “Joel Rosenberg has proven himself to be an expert ballet conductor,” and Johannesburg’s Business Day said “[the] Nutcracker [is] imbued with new life … Joel Rosenberg’s conducting animates and clarifies Tchaikovsky’s score. One watches the Second Act with a new appreciation of the composer.” His performance of Carmen with the American West Symphony was listed by the Salt Lake Tribune as one of the best performances of 2005.

He recently recorded the William Wallace Concertino for Viola and Orchestra with the Slovak Radio Symphony. While in Slovakia he performed with the Slovak Radio Symphony in a concert sponsored by the U.S. Embassy.

Mr. Rosenberg has conducted recording sessions for Air Supply and was invited to conduct the Utah Symphony Brass and Percussion by the Madeleine Festival.

He has performed as principal violist under Pierre Boulez and has been a guest violist with the Da Vinci String Quartet at the University of Denver. In 2000 he was invited by the Madeleine Festival to premiere the Manookian Viola Concerto, which was written for him.
